Our Team

Professor Asen Asenov:

The founder, CEO and director of Semiwise Professor Asenov, has significant business experience. Professor Asenov was the architect and the CEO of the GoldStandard Simulations (GSS) business vision. Without any venture capital GSS grew to be the market leader in simulation of statistical variability and Design Technology Co-Optimisation in year 5 and was acquired by Synopsys in year 6. On exit, GSS returned high value to its shareholders. Professor Asenov is currently the director of two other start-ups, Surecore and Ngenics.

Professor Beaumont:

The second Semiwise director and Chairman of Semiwise Professor Beaumont was also a Director and Chairman of GSS and made significant contributions to GSS’s success. He is also the director of Kelvin Nanotechnology, SawDx and Anacail. Professor Beaumont has served as a Vice-Principal for Research and Enterprise at the University of Glasgow from 1 January 2005 to 1 August 2014.

Dr. Fikru Adamu-Lema:

Dr. Adamu-Lema is a Chief Modeling and Simulation officer at Semiwise. He has more than 15 years of semiconductor device modeling and simulation experience in a research environment. His area of expertise include statistical simulation analysis, which is related to variability and reliability in advanced nano-scale devices, and statistical compact model. He has been involved with numerous research projects as a project co-ordinator and on different levels of collaborative tasks.

Dr. Tapas Dutta:

Dr. Dutta is an expert on advanced modeling and simulation of semiconductor devices. He received the Ph.D. degree in nanoelectronics from INPG, Grenoble, France, in 2014. During 2014-17, he was with IIT Kanpur, India as a post-doctoral researcher where his work was focused on multi-scale simulations of III-V and 2D material based FETs, modeling of negative capacitance transistors, and the industry standard BSIM-SOI compact model. Since September 2017, he has been with the university of Glasgow as a research associate and currently also with Semiwise on a part-time secondment.

Dr. Vihar P. Georgiev:

Dr Georgiev is Quantum Simulation and Business Development Adviser at Semiwise. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in chemistry and computational chemistry from Sofia University, Bulgaria in 2004 and 2006, correspondingly and PhD degree from the University of Oxford in 2011. In 2011, he joined the Device Modelling Group, School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, where he was a Research Associate until August 2015. Form August 2015 until August 2019 he was a Lecturer. Currently he is a Senior Lecturer in Electronics and Nanoscale Engineering and the Deputy Leader of the Device Modeling Group  in the School of Engineering, University of Glasgow.
